Exclusion list

The trust does not support:

  • Anything that does not have the promotion of Christianity as part of its ethos.
  • Activities that are primarily the responsibility of central or local government or another responsible body.
  • Animal welfare.
  • Church buildings - restorations, improvements, renovations or new buildings.
  • Environmental - conservation and protection of wildlife and landscape.
  • Expeditions and overseas trips.
  • Hospitals, hospices and health centres.
  • Individuals whose work is not well known to the Trustees are not normally supported.
  • Large national charities. 
  • Local project’s run by large national charities
  • Loans and business finance.
  • Medical research projects.
  • Overseas appeals.
  • Promotion of any religion other than Christianity.
  • Schools, universities and colleges.
  • Projects that have been turned down before.
  • Charities supported by Alfred Haines Charitable Trust.

Please do not waste your money and time by applying if your project or application would  fall into the excluded list.  Your application will be a waste of your resources.

Quothquan Trust shares support staff with The Alfred Haines Charitable Trust. If your application is more relevant for AHCT there is no need to make a separate application to AHCT, it will be reviewed/transferred as appropriate.
